Business logistics and the management of the logistics management function area is a critical skill that is needed by all organisations, whether they be in the manufacturing or services sectors. An organisation can have the best products or services in the world but without getting them to customers when and where they are needed, the organisation will not be able to survive. As there is a worldwide shortage of effective and efficient logistics experts, by participating in this course, you should be able to increase your existing knowledge on the various subjects pertaining to business logistics, or, if you are a novice, develop a base on which to build skills.
Business logistics consists of 13 activities, all of which provide value to customers as well as the organisation that is facilitating such services. This course in logistics management introduces students to the complex and exciting world of business logistics and how it can be used to provide an organisation with a competitive advantage in the marketplace. You will also gain insight into the broader field of logistics, looking at aspects such as waste management, reverse logistics and investment recovery.
