WHY A TEACHING REMEDIAL LEARNING SUPPORT COURSE?


The purpose of this course is to assist and guide you in the understanding of children and how a child’s individual development can be influenced. The course aims to add to the holistic and inclusive whole of education in South Africa, by providing perspectives on remedial learning in the contexts of the home, school and other learning environments.

Holders of the qualification will be able to operationalise some aspects of the core human resources management processes at a basic level and integrate them into an organisation’s business processes.

Summary

Welcome to the HR Management Qualification. Holding the National Diploma in Human Resources Management and Practices will serve as an indicator to organisations that a person is competent in this regard. Organisations also need the qualification as a benchmark to gauge the competence of people in the organisation against those of their local and international competitors. You need the qualification to increase your access to employment. It will enable holders to enter learning programmes for a degree in Human Resources Management and Practices with a specialist focus in one or more of the four role clusters. Providers of education and training in the field need the qualification to facilitate portability of learner credits between provider institutions.

Entry Requirements

Grade 12 (std. 10) or equivalent NQF 5 qualification. Students are required to provide a certified copy of equivalent qualification certificate (not older than 3 months). Students are required to present verifiable relevant working experience (4 years or more) and a certified copy of ID (not older than 3months).

Application for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): We have partnered with an external assessment provider to offer an online assisted Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) application to allow our students that seek alternative access to NQF 5 level qualifications and/or higher qualifications. A RPL application assists prospective students who are not in possession on a National Senior Certificate (NSC). How You Will Learn

This online training qualification is presented through an online interactive learning platform. You will receive academic support and guidance from your Online Course Lecturer and Online Academic Tutor with all Formative and Summative Assessment submissions. You will learn through diverse learning assessment activities, including:

  • Accessing your programme notes via the Virtual Learning Environment
  • Learn while using our rich-interactive media, such as videos, infographics, gamification tools
  • Enjoy the supplementary case-study readings in each module
  • Participate and collaborate in discussion forums

Assessments

This is an accredited qualification. Formative assessments are essential in terms of measuring your progress. You need to submit the Formative assessment to the Damelin Online Virtual Learning Environment. Summative assessment are done in terms of measuring competency. It should be done in accordance to set requirements.

Module evaluation form

(a) Formative Assessments

The assessment process is easy to follow. Your responsibility is to complete all the activities in the formative assessments and submit it for assessment to the Online Course Lecturer (OCL). You will complete a formative assessment for every section.

You need to complete all the formative assessments. The formative assessments per module need to be uploaded as one PDF to your Portfolio of Evidence, and to your Online Course Lecturer (OCL) for viewing.

In order to attempt the summative assessments, you require an average of 60% per for all your formative assessments. Your formative assessments will contribute 40% towards entrance for FISA.

(b) Summative Assessments

You will be required to complete a series of summative assessments. The summative assessments will assist you in identifying the evidence required for final assessment purposes. There will be summative assessments related to every module. You will be required to complete these activities on your own time, using real life projects in your workplace or organisational environment in preparing evidence for your Portfolio of Evidence.

Your summative assessments will include practical assessments that you should complete. You will also be required to do the Knowledge Questionnaires. After completion of this module, you will have a month to do these Summative Assessments. The summative assessments need to be upload as a PDF to your Portfolio of Evidence, and to the Online Course lecturer for viewing. Your summative assessments contribute 60% to entrance into the FISA.

(c) Final Integrated Summative Assessment

On completion of your summative assessments, you will be required to write a FISA (Final Integrated Summative Assessment) on the various modules within this qualification.

The Final Integrated Summative Assessment (FISA) will be administered to learners through a National Examination as arranged by the SABPP. The FISA is created by the examination committee of the SABPP. Information will be provided to you as required.

Your mark for the qualification will only consist of the mark obtained in FISA. The final pass mark for this qualification is 65%.

Upon successful completion of your Damelin Correspondence Course Powered by Damelin Online, you will receive a National Diploma: Human Resource Management and Practices, NQF 5, SABPP Accredited, 249 Credits, SAQA ID: 61592
