Description

Accounting skills are vital in terms of knowing how to prepare and interpret financial statements and how to use them to comply with the requirements of various stakeholders in business. Financial statements are key to inform the decision-making process of management, but are also a requirement in terms of the Companies Act of South Africa.
Financial statements are used to prepare tax returns and are also submitted to the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) on an annual basis.

Aspiring finance, accounting and investment professionals need to understand what financial statements are and how these are prepared as this is a crucial part of their career. Managers and entrepreneurs also need to understand how to leverage accounting outputs to drive strategic decision-making.
