Summary
The scope of this course includes navigating through corporate governance concepts, understanding the various functions and roles of the board of directors, as well as the criteria for the selection of an effective executive team. Issues such as corporate mal-governance will be examined. The course will also zoom in on the King Report which was established in 1994 and has continually been updated, with the latest edition being the King IV Report of 2016.
Subject Matter Expert
Adeola Oluwatoyin (Toyin) Osundiran obtained her first degree in Economics at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1999 and a Masters degree in Business Administration Management in 2002. She began her professional career in the banking sector and then worked the Nigerian Port Authority.
In 2009, Toyin obtained an Honours degree from the University of Stellenbosh. In 2010, she obtained a Masters degree in Maritime Studies (cum Laude), and another Masters degree in Logistics Management (cum Laude) in 2016. She recently completed her Doctorate at the University of Johannesburg.
Toyin has worked with Aramex South Africa in various capacities, including as a business analyst, sustainability manager and business intelligence executive. Currently she is a lecturer at Damelin Braamfontein. She is also a project leader, content developer and involved in blended learning.
