Labour law is vital for mediating the relationship between employers, employees as well as government and trade unions. This course provides a summary of important principles from all the key labour acts which are important to know when employing people, when ensuring compliance and when things go wrong. Knowing what to extract from sometimes complex legislation is key in protecting yourself, from both the employer and the employee perspective.

By the end of the course, you will have the ability to set the ground rules and define terms and conditions of employment. You will understand the basic conditions of employment and what must be in an employment contract; unpack the constitutional right to fairness; be able to compile a basic performance management contract to set the standard required of your employees and, overall, you will be more effective and efficient when employing people.
